DCA Market Intelligence publishes weekly benchmark indices for frozen fries. These are the DCA Frozen Fries Open Market Index, the DCA Fastfood Index and the DCA Frozen Fries 70/30 Index. The specifications of these benchmarks are described below.

The three DCA Frozen Fries indices are calculated based on the raw materials used for the production of frozen fries, thereby providing insight into the price trends of fries. De DCA Frozen Fries Open Market Index, de DCA Fast Food Index en de DCA Frozen Fries 70/30 Index are weekly calculated prices and published every friday afternoon.

How price input is collected

The data input for the DCA Frozen Fries Open Market Index, the DCA Fastfood Index, and the DCA Frozen Fries 70/30 Index is collected every Friday afternoon. The three indices are calculated for the current week based on the prices gathered during that week. If no (partial) price is available for any of the data inputs for the indices during that week, the previous (partial) price is used, with a maximum look-back period of 3 weeks. If, in this manner, prices are unavailable for more than one input, the Open Market Index, the Fastfood Index, and/or the Frozen Fries 70/30 Index for that week will not be calculated until such prices become available again.

Open Market Index

DCA EU-4 Potato Index (closest)
1/0.55 times the current average Potato contract price for Fontane (ex-field, week 17, week 26) per ton.
8% Sunflower Oil (Rotterdam) in euros per ton
0.5 MW (Dutch TTF) in euros per ton

Fast Food Index

1/0.55 times the current average Potato contract price for Innovator (ex-field, week 17, week 26) per ton.
Factory contract prices: Agristo, Aviko, Farm Frites, McCain, LWM, Clarebout
8% Sunflower Oil (Rotterdam) in euros per ton
0.5 MW (Dutch TTF) in euros per ton

70/30 Index

30% weighting of Open
70% weighting of Fast Food

The final benchmark indices are determined on Friday at 15:00 CET. Subsequently, the DCA Frozen Fries Index, the DCA Fastfood Index and the DCA 30/70 Fries Index for that week are established and published on the Potato Platform of DCA Market Intelligence.
